Hi I'm Kat, Padi instructor, No 256032. Most of my dive training was completed abroad in the lovely warm waters of Egypt. Recently I have changed my tune a bit and started to expierience more of the beautiful UK waters. I now work predominantly in inland UK waters, but from time to time like to visit the Farne islands, and the Shetland Isles where I have made some wonderful diving friends. I am a full time 4th year veterinary student, but also work part time for Go-dive Derby, originally as a divemaster and now as an instructor, but during summer holidays I like to go back and help out in Shetland too. My main diving interests are photography, and looking at fish. For many years I have kept saltwater marine fish, inverts and corals in aquariums, and I guess thats what started the interest in diving, however I am now keen to promote the education behind keeping these wondeful creatures (both in tanks and the wild), and how to look after their natural environment. Back home in the UK I have worked with the salmon industry as part of my first veterinary degree, looking into the welfare and diseases of UK fish stocks in Shetland. I love helping people learn to dive, and watching them discover the magical underwater world, and meeting lots of new friends in the process. Come and join me on a underwater tour in the gallery section! If your thinking of learning to dive, why not come and join us at Go-dive, or your nearest Padi centre for a try-dive. Come and try on all the gear, and expirience scuba for the first time in your home pool, if you love it - which you will, we can then usually get you diving within 5 weeks with the real fishies.
